Common questions

Helpful things to know.

How many BWRT® sessions will I need?

There is no reliable fixed number. The assessment, complexity of the concern, your preferences and how the work progresses all matter. We review progress rather than promising a one-session or permanent result.

Does BWRT® use hypnosis?

No. BWRT® is generally delivered using conscious mental exercises rather than a hypnotic trance. I am also a clinical hypnotherapist and may discuss other approaches where relevant, but those would be agreed separately.

Will I have to describe painful experiences in detail?

Not necessarily. BWRT® often works from a brief outline of a situation or response. I still need enough information to assess suitability and practise safely, including relevant health and background information.

Can we meet online?

Yes, online appointments are available, subject to suitability and availability. You will need a reasonably private space and a reliable connection. Face-to-face work takes place by appointment at Craven Clinic in Skipton.

What is the cancellation policy?

For cancellations more than 24 hours before an appointment, you can generally choose a refund or transfer. Less than 24 hours’ notice normally means the fee is not refunded, subject to exceptional circumstances and statutory rights. Read the full terms and conditions.

Is everything confidential?

Therapy is confidential within the legal and professional limits explained in the practice privacy notice and therapy agreement, including safeguarding and serious-risk situations. Read how your information is handled.

Can I continue taking prescribed medication?

Yes, unless your prescribing clinician advises otherwise. Please do not stop or change medication based on information on this website or without speaking to your prescriber.
